FilmyChill answers one question: what's actually worth watching this week? Not a database of everything ever made — a short, honest, daily-refreshed list of this week's theatre and OTT releases in India (plus the US, UK, Australia and Germany), each with a rating, a plain-language verdict and a one-line critics' take.
The lists are rebuilt automatically twice a day. Titles qualify only if they're genuinely current — new theatrical releases, new seasons, or titles that just arrived on a streaming platform (we track first sightings ourselves, so a 2024 film that lands on Netflix today correctly counts as news today). Within that fresh pool, ranking blends audience rating, vote volume and recency, with a quality floor for the Pick of the Week. Older titles that are still worth your time appear below a clearly marked divider — they never impersonate this week's news.
Film metadata, ratings and streaming availability come from TMDB (this site uses the TMDB API but is not endorsed or certified by TMDB; streaming data via JustWatch). Trending signals come from Wikipedia readership and YouTube trailer statistics. The "Critics' take" line on each film is synthesised in our own words from the critical-reception coverage of that film's Wikipedia article — a human-written summary of real published reviews — or, when that doesn't exist yet, from early viewer review averages on TMDB. When there isn't enough signal to say something honest, we say nothing.
No pay-for-placement — no studio, platform or distributor can buy a position on any list, ever. No fake urgency: dates on the site are real dates, and archived pages say they're archived. If FilmyChill ever carries advertising or affiliate links, they'll be clearly separated from the editorial rankings, which will keep working exactly as described above.
