Dallas is a solid, watchable English series that mostly delivers on what it promises. It's sitting at 6.9/10 on TMDB across 249 ratings, which puts it around the middle of the pack.
Is it worth starting?
This is 14 seasons deep — English soap, leaning drama, not one for younger kids. There's a lot of it, which is either the appeal or the problem depending on your week.
- Why
- 6.9/10 from 249 ratings — well received so far, on a modest sample.
- Skip if
- you don't want to start something several seasons deep
- Best for
- A long run rather than a single sitting
Story
The world's first mega-soap, and one of the most popular ever produced, Dallas had it all. Beautiful women, expensive cars, and men playing Monopoly with real buildings. Famous for one of the best cliffhangers in TV history, as the world asked "Who shot J.R.?" A slow-burner to begin with, Dallas hit its stride in the 2nd season, with long storylines and expert character development. Dallas ruled the airwaves in the 1980's.
